Limits

During Activity

The online webinar was organised after WP1 damaged the levee during their overflow experiments. An erosion pitt was formed and needed some emergecy reparation. With a mixed group of experts and students from different organisations possible emergency reparations were invented.

Post-activity conditions

The most promising solutioins were worked-out such that they can be installed during an activity.

Immediate Results

Both more traditional as more innovative sollutions came up. Eventually the solutions were catogorized in three groups, sand bags with EPDM, Rock Fill, Clay Fill, and Clay incission with EPDM. These emergency reparations are put to the tests in future experiments. (see relationship with other activities)

Results /Conclusion

Four emergency reparations were worked out and are put to the test in later experiments.

Infrastructure Knowledge

The incision method and the embankment with EPDM were more innovative solutions. Especially the incision in the clay layer with EPDM underneath worked better than expected. (see experiment about the incisision)
